Looking to buy a used SUV?

I am shopping around for SUV's (used) and looking to spend about $7,000. What's a good, reliable, fuel efficient SUV - I am thinking Jeep or GMC... I don't want to buy something that will start self destructing in a matter of months as whatever vehicle I buy will have some decent mileage on it. Thanks
