Why does when love does not meet our expectation we turn to self destruct?

False dreams, and romanticism. People believe love to be wondrous and spontaneous, but their expectations are lost when they see there "Boy" friend doing something they do not approve of, therefore killing the babies that could have been born if the women hadn't been so fastidious and left the man due to his actions.
